Hetero-performative is a solo work performed by Vinay Hira (a scientist, entrepreneur, and artist) for the Auckland Pride Festival in 2016. A series of vignettes investigating identity and what it means to be “normal”, Hetero-performative both problematized and coveted millennial culture and self-branding. The form was a mixture of performance art, testimony, lecture, music video, and dance.
